Scholastic Olympiad Award Recipients
Last few months were busy but God allowed us experience a lot of excitement, too.  Traditionally in May we say thank you to students who have achieved high academic results in the region and country - we call it our Scholastic Olympic event. It was great to see that about 64 % of students have high academic accomplishments in different subjects - it was a joyful night for parents and teachers. TCS wants to honor God by teaching students to do their best and achieve academic results that are above the average in Talsi and our Region.

Bell Choir Concert
3 years ago thanks to Bro. Eric Dennis' initiative TCS got bells - many of you donated for that purpose. There are 2 bells choirs at TCS - junior and high school choir and both choirs participate in different music competitions in Latvia and they always get 1st places. In May we had a great music event at Talsi Lutheran church - students' bell choirs from Liepaja and Ventspils joined TCS bell choir for a beautiful concert! The best part of it was that guest bell choirs are coming from secular schools but for this concert they had to learn Christian praise music - when they played Amazing Grace and Hallelujah - the audience had chills - it was beautiful beyond words! Good News through the bell music - it works!!!! And we have a CD of TCS bell choir - the main players were seniors and they are graduating, but since they took 1st  place in Latvia's National Music Group Competition, it was worth of recording their music!
Also I was very proud of our wind instrument group. We got instruments 2 years ago and students who don't attend music school started learning to play those instruments. At the end of the school year they performed and I was amazed at how talented our TCS students are. It just tells me that it doesn't matter what you teach- academics, music or God's word - we have to continue to do it with persistence and diligence - and there will be great fruit!

Ruta Akmenkaleja Recieves Award as "TCS Pride 2014"
On the last day of School we had TCS Thanksgiving church service at Lutheran church - it is the largest church building in town and we outgrew Talsi Baptist church long time ago. There were so many things to thank God for - He kept the doors of TCS open in spite of the problems we went through in beginning of this school year when the government unexpectedly reduced private school  teachers' salary subsidies by 40 % and I wasn't sure - will we make it through the school year...  We thanked God for you, dear brothers and sisters in Christ because without your prayers and donations we wouldn't make it... We thanked God for saved children and families during this school year. And we thanked God for our future because He holds it Jer. 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,: "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".
For the 7th year a special nominee "TCS Pride" was given to a student of TCS. During the last semester students of TCS ( teachers can't participate in voting) anonymously vote for the student who has shown outstanding service to others - without asking or pushing but whose heart is sold out to serve others showing God's love through their actions.
This year it was a tight race between 5 students in our Senior class. Ruta Akmenkaleja became TCS Pride 2014. Ruta came to TCS 3 years ago from the public school as nonbeliever and coming from a nonbeliever family. Today she is saved and she is sold out to help others and witnessing about God.

1st graders donating their allowance to help children in Africa
Many graduates of TCS have become missionaries. Anete Ankmane graduated from TCS 2 years ago and God called her to become a missionary in Kongo, Africa. Recently she shared a need for medical equipment in the local village and students of TCS donating their allowance money to help children in Africa. I was so proud of my students that they understand - God has blessed TCS through your generous donations and there are people who have less than we do and we are able to help... Everybody donated - from the first grader to senior... for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Cor. 9:7

Busy Summer Ahead of Us
Though the school year is finished we are looking forward to busy and fruitful summer. The VBS for students of TCS starts on June 16th, then for the 19th summer straight we will have The Children's/Orphan Camp followed by our 8th Youth Camp! Please, pray may God uses American Christians and youth leaders of TCS in a great
way for His Kingdom!
Finally weather is beautiful in Latvia and season of the world's best strawberries has started! If you have not being in Latvia in June, you are missing out!
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ! Thank you for being a part of the ministry of Talsi Christian School! Please, keep praying for our school and help us financially to keep the door of TCS open may we can continue to reach out for people in Latvia and the world!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 1 Tes. 5:28
Sincerely,
